I would like to spend a few moments to tell you about myself and what motivates me to keep improving and working on my craft. It would mean the world to me if you would choose to stay until the end of this page since I think that knowing the photographer is essential to better understanding his art. So, here we go: I hope you enjoy the journey.
My name is Chad Solomon, I was born in Gisborne, New Zealand, and moved to Brisbane, Australia in 1987 wherein the past 10 years I have been able to reveal my passion of photography as there are so many incredible places to visit. Whether you like to take pictures of the beautiful Brisbane city or drive north to the Sunshine Coast or south to the Gold Coast and Byron Bay. The gorgeous coastline allows one to catch the picturesque sunrise or catch a beautiful sunset. Australia offers you the opportunity to accomplish your photographic dreams with such a diverse landscape. Photography is now a significant part of my life.
It is such a pleasure to keep improving and trying new strategies to capture better the essence of what I am photographing. For me initially, it was the early morning sunrises along the coastline of what photographers define as seascapes. After many outings, I think I can firmly say that sunrises at the water's edge are my favourite to capture since they are full of colour and isolation it feels like the world putting on a show just for you as the view is spectacular and typically there isn't a person in sight. However, I do not only enjoy capturing the sunrises but sunsets, cities, landscapes, the rainforests.
As previously mentioned, I am not only happy to catch sunrises. In fact, I consider myself a “nature” photographer. Whether we are talking about landscapes, seascapes or cityscapes you can rest assured that I have photographed them all. I feel an intrinsic connection with nature, and it is always a pleasure to spend some time in the rainforest or on the beach trying to get the best shots. I think it is the best part of this profession and I would not change it for anything else. It allows me to show the world the uniqueness of all its beauty
I have just one goal in mind: to see as much as possible of this amazing planet. To be able to travel the world, taking everything in, especially those isolated areas from New Zealand and all the way up to Iceland. With my ultimate dream to visit Antarctica. I am grateful to be able to see as much as possible and capture the excellence of earth and showcase to the world my unique perspective through my photographs.
My ambition is to become an inspiration and a source of knowledge for young photographers, to show them that it is possible to make your dreams come true and to encourage people to get outside and spend time in nature.
This is who I am and what gets me out of bed every single day. My mission is my ambitious, but I nurture it every time I take a photograph.
“Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, what do I want to do every day for the rest of my life... Do that.”
